why can't things just be easy?

because anything easy isn't worth having..

i am having severe issues with getting access to a computer that works, all i want to do it put a little post up and i can't. which explains why my posts have been so slow. sorry but unless apple works out how to configure adobe or someone in my house stops being so stingy with their computers the posts aren't going to get any quicker. i might actually have to get my work done :O

for now, a little rag & bone..

black swan

my sister and I went to see the film that fashion has been raving on about for months, Black Swan. and it was truly amazing, it keeps you gripped the whole way through. as rolling stone said 'like a dark twisted fantasy' without giving to much away you don't know whats happening and whats not happening and i was thinking about it for ages after i watched it. the costumes were amazing, created by the amazing duo Rodarte. its such a tense film that's both scary as shit and beautiful. natalie portman played the role brilliantly capturing both the ballerina and psycho whilst looking beautiful no matter what she was doing. sex played a big part in the film but i think it added to the manic feel of the film, but i did chose the sex scene between natalie portman and mila kunis to run to the loo so i don't know how that played out. and of course the ballet was amazing, if portman wanted to throw in the towel with acting she could surely become a ballerina, even though as the film shows the competitive and grueling side of ballet I'm not sure she'd want to. 10/10

nicole richie seems to have nailed the boho glam look. this very 70s print and shape of the fabric is going to be big this summer acording to vogue and elle but i've been digging the late 1960s to 70s for a while now and i'm not just talking about the fashion :)

if i keep dreaming and hoping

i want to move away to a beach house and just surf, sunbathe and swim all day with just people who want to be there with me and want to just chill with no pressure to be better or cooler because we wont care! they'll be unlimited noodles and tofu and beer. no body will be trying to step on other peoples (bare, tanned) feet or trying to be better than them because we'll all be equals. we won't lie and we'll trust each other and we'll stick to our promises and we won't be trying to prove each other wrong. and maybe if i keep dreaming and hoping of a world that doesn't exist, it'll happen and defy anything any one had ever said. we don't need to be organised or rude to enjoy life, we just need to be nice and generous. because if we're all generous we won't ever need anything again.

women's rights

charlise theron- women's rights activist.

i recently had a conversation with two rather humorous friends who recently i gt into a bit of a debate about feminists and how they thought of hairy lesbians (turns out they were 'joking') when feminists were brought up and it made me so mad because they have no idea what women put them selves for us women to even get a job better than a secretary or even back a hundred years when women's books would not be published. my mother, who used to work in financial services is a feminist, and she's not hairy or a lesbian. she's blonde and wears nice clothes and never has a chipped nail (something we disagree on) so of course she's not going to go around burning her bra and refusing to shave but she understands that there is still a glass ceiling for women in the work place just look at the number of women CEOs compared to men, and don't even get me started on women in less developed countries. Women are still not treated the same as men and probably never will be but my points is that just because a women wants to fight for her rights doesn't make her a hairy lesbian and doesn't mean she (or he!) should be treated with any less respect for something they care about, even if they are a hairy lesbian!
